Our paua shell/abalone shell is sustainably sourced, under license, from the New Zealand government’s Fisheries Department. It is never free fished or dredged and is a by-product of the food chain. The shell is often referred to as ‘Sea Opal’ due to its stunning greens, blues and fiery flashes, with iridescent colours that change s they catch the light. Ancient Maoris called it ‘The Gift of the God of the Sea’.

Each piece is naturally unique.

The base metal is a hyper-allergenic zinc alloy with rhodium plating.

The base metal for the earring’s fishhook is brass with rhodium alloy plating

The base metal for the chain is brass or iron with rhodium plating or stainless steel.

All items are nickel, cadmium and lead free.
